Order Your ADA Signs with Pre-Drilled Holes for Mounting with Fasteners - Pre-Drilled 3/16" Holes in Custom ADA Tactile Braille Signs

Note: hardware not included

Add holes to ADA Signs
Acrylic and brushed aluminum ADA signs from ADA Sign Depot can be ordered with pre-drilled 3/16" holes for mounting.
Choose regular mounting holes, or counter-sunk mounting holes. (What is countersink, or a countersunk hole? Definition of countersink: verb (past and past participle countersunk): To enlarge and bevel the rim of (a drilled hole) so that a screw, nail, or bolt can be inserted flush with the surface.)

After adding this item to the shopping cart, be sure to adjust the Quantity to match the number of signs on your order that you want drilled.

Hardware is not included. You will need to select hardware that is appropriate for the surface(s) on which you will mount your signs. We recommend anti-vandal tamper-proof hardware when possible. Mounting hardware is available at most hardware stores including Lowes, Home Depot, True Value, etc. ADA Sign Depot has no responsibility for any damage to signs or surfaces that signs are affixed to in mounting operations performed by customer or their designated installer.

Hole Drilling for Mounting ADA Signs

  • Our ADA signs come with foam mounting tape. However, ADA signs, and especially ADA signs larger than 6"x6", including ADA stairwell signage and restroom door signs, should be mounted using mechanical fasteners (hardware), or a silicone adhesive such as Lexel Caulk.
  • We will determine the optimum number and position of holes for each sign. Smaller signs may need only two holes, while larger signs may require four or more holes. Cost is per sign; you will not be charged any more for signs we determine need extra holes for secure mounting.
  • Holes are typically 3/16 inch in diameter with a typical edge distance of 1/2 inch to avoid potential cracking of the sign base.
  • What is countersink, or a countersunk hole? Definition of countersink: verb (past and past participle countersunk): To enlarge and bevel the rim of (a drilled hole) so that a screw, nail, or bolt can be inserted flush with the surface.
  • If a particular sign is not large enough to accommodate mounting holes, we will notify you. You can then choose to have us ship the sign(s) without holes, or to have us create a larger version of the sign (with an additional charge) that will allow for drilling of mounting holes.
  • If you are drilling your own signs in the field use a slow speed drill. The slower the better.
  • NEVER over-tighten hardware. This can crack or damage the sign. ADA Sign Depot is not responsible for any damage to supplied signs or mounting surfaces when mounting our signs.
  • While signs ordered with drilled holes typically ship in 5-7 business days, the drilling of holes can add 1-2 business days to production time. Signs with optional holes are a custom product and are not returnable.
  • Mounting hardware is not included with signs. you can find and purchase the correct mounting hardware suitable for whatever surface material you will be mounting your signs on at Home Depot, Lowes, or other hardware suppliers.
  • Any sign ordered with holes added is by nature a Custom Sign and is not returnable for refund. This includes stock signs and made-to-order signs.
